Before we get started, I have to confess that I really am turning into my mother.  As a tomboy growing up in an athletic family household, you could find me on a field, court or in a stadium much more than you could find me behind a sewing machine. 

 

So how did I get here?

Much to my surprise, my mother's influence as a quilter and maker in my younger years ultimately helped shape my professional career in product development in the apparel and footwear industry.  After several years in product development, I suddenly found myself without a creative outlet.  As a full-time mom of two, quilting quickly filled that void during those small pockets of time in the day.  As I delved further into the quilting world, I struggled to find athletic-inspired quilt patterns that I could display proudly in my home.  Thus, Jessica Steele Design was born as the home of athletically-inspired design for the modern quilter.
